Dallas Morning News Sept 6: "For the last decade, the Republican Party in Texas has been shrinking," according to the senior Texas U.S. Senator. "We're losing elections we used to win easily." This attempted wake-up call to her Republican party reflects the current published Gallup and insider Republican polling: more Texans now self identify Democrat than Republican. As of August 2009, Gallup has self identified Texas Republicans at 40 percent. In the Houston Chronicle this past week, the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee focused on the Lone Star State as a tremendous growth opportunity for the Democratic Party, concluding "I am more convinced than ever that Texas is trending our way and will continue to do so." The Texas Attorney General race presents a strategic and cost efficient way to break the one party domination of every Texas statewide office. Barbara Ann received early endorsements of 55 Democratic County Chairs and elected officials. Strategically-thinking Democrats chose Barbara Ann's campaign, referenced in papers this weekend in Houston, Austin and Galveston. We sent out a newsletter asking for your help to raise $10,000 by September 30, 2009 so that we could get our new campaign website, new graphics and the services of an online campaign expert to help execute our online campaign. The last newsletter raised almost $3,000 via Act Blue and checks sent into the office. We still have 22 days until the deadline. We are counting on you to help us raise $10,000 by September 30.
